I bought a 10' Z-Ray II 400 with a 7.5 Merc. I love it and it flys, 21mph on gps. I made a set of slide up pivioting davits so it sits on platform without removing the motor.

I just up graded a up grade

I had just added a Garmin echomap 70s . I just up graded it to a 741xs . while this will do about everything Gps/radar/sounder/enginedata/cameras . I am mainly using it as a GPS , the sounder part when fishing as its better then my other unit . I will add a camera so I watch the "crew" if she goes below .

Pretty neat toy

I was just looking at that same unit. I originally was planning on going with lowrance but a friend of mine owns a few sea tow franchises and can get really good prices on Garmin. My only concern with the 741 is the screen size if I wanted to split the screen and run sonar and plotter at the same time. I had read nothing but good reviews about the unit.
Congrats on the upgrade!

I know what you mean about screen size . That's why I Up graded from a 441 to the 70s (then 741) . If this was going to be the only sounder I may have gone with larger screen ,Its primary use will be GPS the sounder will be used at some fishing grounds. I have a Furuno sounder all ready . I also have a 10"" Koden GPS/radar/sounder that's used as Radar only 99% of the time (split screen short/long distance ) along with a Garmin 182c as a dedicated gps .

oh and a COMPASS

At least you have enough "real estate " on your console to mount all of your "toys"! As you can see I have limited space for mounting equipment. I did away with the bracket that the radar was on and I tossed the cheap fish finder on the right. the garmin is totally outdated and will be kept as an emergency back up plotter until my cash flow increases.
I'm mounting the old radar on the far right and a new chartplotter/sonar where the old garmin was. thats about all i can fit. almost no space on the left of the console. I really would have loved to do away with the trojan "pod" console and make one that utilized the available space a bit better.

What was Trojan thinking with that Pod ?? After using the boat this season , I would put that on next years bucket list . But with moving the radar and the centered GPS it should be fine .

You got that right
BTW
I used to have The Radar and Gps mounted under the electronics box on the hard top , But it cause me a lot of neck pain so I put them lower . Only the 2 VHFs are there . Can you tell I like redundant systems ?? LOL For what its worth on the lower helm I have a 7" Koden Radar/GPS / Sounder unit Like the top unit but smaller and a single VHF , No need for back up down there I never use that helm .

Just a thought, and maybe an expensive one, but you can get a module that will read your analog engine data and convert it to N2k. Then get a nice dual screen multi unit system and you can have everything, charts, sounders, radar, and gauges, all displayed on touch screens.
