Forward bilge pump??

Post by DoorCountyScott »

F32 owners do you have water in the bilge outside of the head (ours has a panel that comes up). I thought I read something about a forward bilge but can only find one in stearn or is water being prevented from going to stearn???

The F32 sits bow down, so at the dock bilge water tends to run forward. The forward bilge pump will be under the 'step' in the V-berth. As long as your limber holes are clear, while under way and on plane any water will run aft and the aft pump will deal with it.

Thanks, I will look again but so far have only been able to lift up the floor panel and under the V-Berth.
So, water sitting in there is normal and will be gone once we are underway?

The water is normal. Both of your bilge pumps should be on float switches - make sure the floats are moving freely and the pumps kick in when you lift the float (that's what keeps the water level under control). You will never be completely dry.

Do you have a pump in the forward bilge? Also, some water (1" maybe) is normal after pumping.
