redoing nonskid

Post by Bruce »

I have a 73 trojan that needs some work on her nonskid. The marina fiberglass people want over 7000 $ to do the job. Ain't going to happen. I understand the present nonskid has to be sanded down. My question is how and what to treat the surface with. I am considering all grip paint or fiberglass gell. I want a surface that will stand up and not present problems down the road. I would also like to get away from "white' and have the nonskid a light tan/ brown colour. Any suggestions much appreciated.

Interlux makes a product that is an additive and is small eliptical particles. I would suggest that you use a 2 part urathane and add it to the paint. It may be necessary to prime the decks before applying.
