Just wanted to revisit this. Anything more concrete in this event?

I see you are in Prowlersfish's neck of the woods. How far north would you guys go? I suggest Middle River! Anywhere between Philadelphia and Solomons would work for me.
I needed a less expensive hobby, so I bought a boat!

After going through all the responses, it seems like there is no clear consensus. I think we should either come up with a location mid-Bay or have one in the North and one in the South. My vote would be mid-Bay.

In any case, I think we should have one!!!

I am on the Sassafras River and would be willing to travel to Rock Hall or north of the sassafras up the C&D.

I just bought a 1978 F26 in Pa. and next week bringing her to her new home in Va. near the mouth of the Potomac river. Solomons Island or Herrington Harbour South would be good central locations and have plenty of things to offer to all.

I will be keeping her on the Coan river at my house. I will for the most part use her to cross the Potomac river to the Maryland side to my weekend home(38 Tiara) inside of Smith creek. You mentioned Olverson's Marina. Fred Olverson is who I purchase fuel from and he was my realator. Port kinsale was a great place to go, but no resturant or bar is open any longer. the marina has very few boats in the slips. If you ever want to travel to the area, olverson's will lend you a car for shopping and dinning. they also have a nice pool.

The good ship "Mi Yard" sails out of the Magothy River, and would be happy to meet the people of the Forum any place within 20 miles of Baltimore light.

If nothing else is put together, maybe some of us who are in the mid-Bay can get together. We are about 10 miles south of you.

thelast322 wrote:Herring-ton Harbor South would be a decent Compromise for all parties. It is a really cool marina with a huge pool, tiki bar and plenty of space for cocktail hour. I am sure they have a few grills for a cook out. Have not been there since 2010, this would give me a good excuse to go there.

What do you guys think?
Herrington Harbor south is a great place . Our last vist was in 2009 on the way to the 2009 rendezvous in St mikes .

The no discharge zone could be a issue for some , the other is getting slips as the stay pretty full so I assume would have to be reserved well in advance .Can they put a large group close together ? My issue is the distance , while I have run there in a day (150 miles) it would have to be good weather for a long run a short run of 30-40 miles no big deal .But its not about just me . With that said most of you that are interested are a lot closer so its not are much of a issue and it would a nice place as would St mikes . I believe you would get a larger turn out up that way .
