VINTAGE INT'L ADVERT POKING FUN AT 'SEA RAY'

Post by aaronbocknek »

found this on ebay this morning and thought i'd share. great trojan meter boat advert poking fun at sea ray and their sundancer line. after all, trojan WAS the forerunner in this when the meter boats came out.

enjoy.

oh.......hope everyone in the storms path are okay. our cul d sac has yet to be plowed so were stuck for the time being. once, that happens, i'll make the trek up to parkside to clear the decks of ENTERPRISE. i'm more anxious about that than anything.

Hey Aaron, nice thread!

How ironic is this ?

So many of the groundbreaking concepts introduced by Trojan with the International Series were adopted by other boat builders, most notably, Sea Ray.

The difference was that Sea Ray could do it for less cost, resulting in a significantly lower price point for their version.

That ad concept would have been more appropriate had it been released 8 or 10 years prior.

It's all very fascinating.

Hi Aaron,

Hope you're progressing well. Haven't seen a report from you in a while. Have I missed it?

In regard to that ad, it's pretty cool for me especially, since that's my 1994 express in the ad. I'd better buy and frame it.

Cheers

Sea Ray could do it for less cost
in part by using cored hulls.

A solid fiberglass core was among the reasons I was willing to buy a 30 year-old boat.....
I needed a less expensive hobby, so I bought a boat!
