FLOODS

Hi all,

I guess most of you have heard about the floods we have in TN. Our downstairs flooded a little and my son had come upstairs till it drys out.

But the worse thing to happen was Percy Priest Lake came up so much that the single road going into Fate Sanders marina where we have our boat, is block off and under water so we haven't been able to get to it for days, and not sure when we will be able to?

From what some have told us, E dock is still OK, where our slip is. The office and cafe though, may be in trouble. I was told the cables holding it in place have been extended all the way out and the lake was still going to rise another 5 to 8 feet. If the cables snap, it could be in real trouble.

But this is really a mess all around us. Many, many people have lost their homes. The Grand Ol Opry, and the Opryland hotel will be closed for a long time, perhaps years. They have 6 to 8 feet of water standing in them.

Along the Cumberland river which goes right thru Nashville rose so high, that all the business have several feet of water in them also.

I've been watching it, Larrymiester. It amazes me how that storm totally passed us...by only a few miles, yet you guys got slapped so hard.

Levels here are up from major rains we got Sunday night, but not nearly as bad as what you guys got.

Well, I tried to get to our marina yesterday to check on,,,ma' boat! But couldn't.

There were several people at the water's edge of what use to be the road leading to the marina. I manage to talk to a couple guys, who said, all the boats were OK, including the office/cafe. But said, it could be mid next week before being able to get to the boats.

The only looting they talked about, was to the trucks parked there overnight.
Some were taken to their boats by a pontoon boat, so they could be on their boat during the night.
