but shouldn't this be in the pontifications area? otherwise our Trojan section could get out of hand.

My dad says grandpa closed the store that afternoon. He says he can't ever remember his father taking a day off let alone closing the store. Aside from Pearl Harbor Day, Nov. 22, 1963 & Sept. 11, 2001 were great days of sadness for our nation in recent times.

I suppose, with the moderator's approval, that this could be an exception to the rule. Besides, it's about ships too.
Don't mean for this topic to be a long strung out thread, just a reminder of this day in 1941. Go with it... After today or tomorrow, the mod can remove or move to the pontification board.

Yes, we have a lot to be thankful for. One of the most important is the WWII veteran. My father-in-law landed on Utah Beach. After weeks of combat his unit was captured. He spent over 10 months as a POW doing forced labor. He escaped and is still with us today. My father saved by a broken arm would have also landed at Normandy. Yes we have a lot to be thankful for. THANK YOU ALL.
