And the laided of government employees with no pay check they can get unemployment so the government still pays them . NICE ,way to save money .

Its a show and a screw you brought to you by the white house .
The White House? Really? I thought it was because the House republicans, and the tea party faction in particular, having failed to win anything significant in the last election, and having failed to overturn the law that is the Affordable Care Act, which has been upheld by the supreme court, each of the 48 or 49 times that they managed to get the congress to vote to repeal it, finally tied funding the entire government to the repeal of the ACA -- something which is not going to happen.

What is happening is a "screw you America" brought to you by a bunch of petty conservative politicians who can't get over the fact that they lost the election. The shutdown is a black eye on America and does nothing but diminish our world standing. I can't wait for the debt limit fight to see how they hold America hostage then. To even suggest that you would consider letting the United States default on its debts is reckless. I'm for controlled spending and living within our means as a nation too, I certainly do it personally, but to openly hold out as an option the United States defaulting on its debts for one's political gain is reprehensible.

Oh please Perry...Really?

We conservatives, if you will, don't feel that congress, the white house or any other form of government should mandate what each and every American should have. Heath care insurance.
This is why so many folks are upset and if it's a bargaining chip, so be it.

Under Obama, our country's credit rating has gone into the tank, price of fuel is up, albeit somewhat steady at the moment...he promises one thing then completely turns 180 degrees, he's a liar, he doesn't know when to stay out of certain affairs, he's a complete buffoon. The list could go on and on. Not to mentioned that under this asshole's regime, he has all but obliterated our 2nd amendment. True Americans resent this president and his self appointed cronies who together, have decimated our country, in short time!

For those who voted for him, (god forbid twice) please tell us conservatives exactly how he has improved your life? Other than stand behind gay marriage, helping to give more rights to illegal immigrants, apologizing for Americans to other leaders and sticking his fat head into state issues...Our debt is worse now than it's ever been. He is the worst president ever and his liberal cohorts are just as bad.

The black eye on American is not a result of this shut down. This black eye is a result of the Obama administration and it's tactics. Plain and simple.

As fas as the closings is a BIG SHOW that is targeted to the average American . CLOSEING PARKS AND WATER WAYS ?? It cost more to close them then to keep it going . But if the did not do it no one would even notice . So enjoy the show . And as always enjoy the free Cool-aid .

From a friend, PAY CLOSE ATTENTION...posted on the Obamacare website today "I actually made it through this morning at 8:00 A.M. I have a preexisting condition
(Type 1 Diabetes) and my income base was 45K-55K annually I chose tier 2 "Silver Plan" and my monthly premiums came out to $597.00 with $13,988 yearly deducti...ble!!! There is NO POSSIBLE way that I can afford this so I "opt-out" and chose to continue along with no insurance. I received an email tonight at 5:00 P.M. informing me that my fine would be $4,037 and could be attached to my yearly income tax return. Then you make it to the "REPERCUSSIONS PORTION" for "non-payment" of yearly fine. First, your drivers license will be suspended until paid, and if you go 24 consecutive months with "Non-Payment" and you happen to be a home owner, you will have a federal tax lien placed on your home. You can agree to give your bank information so that they can easy "Automatically withdraw" your "penalties" weekly, bi-weekly or monthly! This by no means is "Free" or even "Affordable

Perry,
Here another example of the show and screw by the white house . They are the ones controlling the TARGETED shut down . targeted for for show and its working the want people to react just like you .

http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2013/10/ ... fies-feds/

There are many more cases just like this . The guys pays rent and has a lease and they shut him down .

One of the biggest problems is this country is being run by by people that have never worked in the real world ( private sector ) elected by promises of hand outs . Sad . Unless they have worked in the private sector they don't have clue .

And for the liberals out there...how is it that the Obama administration knew about flaws in their Obama Care website months ago, knew it had glitches and yet officials insisted on rolling it out October 1, 2013? That there my friends, is great leadership...leading the sheep of course! What a joke.

When I posted this It was about the targeted and illegal closures , That where done for maxamin show . It was not for putting the blame on one side or the other for the shut down .Just the way the white house handle it . ( of course after getting acused of blaming the left , my other posts did point at you know who)

maybe this will clear up whos to blame >

First off, I am hardly a "lib." But more importantly, why the personal bad-mouthing? It seems a tad disrespectful. Are we not all friends here, joined together by our desire to keep our Trojans going and our passion for boating in general? Have you seen other posts from me indicating that I'm online but not in this forum? Do you know that I'm avoiding posting a follow-up on purpose? Can't reasonable people disagree and still get along? Does the polarization that is resulting in political gridlock in Washington also exist here? Take a look at the scope of this particular forum. It is for the "free exchange of thought and ideas." Why don't we use it for that purpose instead of to lambast each other?

Actually, I've used my time off from my job to take-up bow hunting, and have been in the woods having an awesome time. You see, I heard on Fox "news" that the UN was going to invade the US and take my guns, so I figured now was a good time to get into the sport. Not being your average American (I own my house, my three cars, and my boat; I actually have saved for retirement; I have no revolving debt; I don't spend more than I make, and so have some cash in the bank; etc.), I have been able to take advantage of the time off and am loving it, quite frankly. Having educated myself (Mrs. too -- 5 college degrees between us), and (take note Congress) lived within my means for the last 30 years, I am able to not just weather the storm, but in fact make the most of it. I'm expecting at least another week off. Which is good, because being away put me behind on my chores....

Here is what happened in recent US history. Obama was elected. He said that if he was re-elected, that he would push national health care. He was and he did. A bill passed the bicameral legislature and was signed into law. Its constitutionality was upheld by what all accounts is a conservative supreme court (5 conservatives to 4 liberals). The few dozen "Tea Party" candidates can't believe that such legislation was signed into law and upheld by the SCOTUS, and so like insolent children have tied funding the United States government to over-turning the Affordable Care Act. Whether you think the ACA is a good idea or not, it is reckless to try to affect legislation -- make that the existing law --at the expense of the normal operation of the US government. Other nations are laughing at us, asking how the U.S. expects to be regarded as a world leader when it can't even govern itself. Well, how can you? It is completely shameful the way this has played out -- on a par with W invading Iraq because of its weapons of mass destruction and ties to 9/11. Hint: there were no WMDs, and Saddam Hussein was not tied to 9/11. Wait a minute, wasn't he at war with IRAN not too long ago, a country that captured 55 or so Americans and held them hostage for 444 days? We should have just paid him the $4 trillion dollars that we spent invading Iraq the second time to overthrow him, got him to finish-off Iran, and none of our troops would have been killed. But I digress.

Regarding the cost of insurance for the diabetic person: Sure it seems like a lot of money, only because it is. A true discussion instead of the borderline scare-tactic-case presented would include data on the lifetime cost of treating diabetes. You can find one such discussion here http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2901386/. Unless I missed it in the discussion, it only considers the treatment cost of diabetes. It does not include ailments that are complications from having diabetes, such as amputation of extremities, which is a common occurrence, only treatment of the disorder. Of course we also need to have the discussion of whether insurance coverage is available for such a pre-existing condition, and if so, its price on the current open market. Only then can we decide if the Affordable Care Act is a misnomer in this case.

I feel the Affordable Care Act is hardly a panacea for healthcare in this country. While I generally would not want the government to mandate what people should have, the fact of the matter is, eventually everyone will need healthcare. One thing that I'm glad that it does is force people to actually be responsible for themselves, something that, big government aside, appeals to the conservative in me. I currently pay for strangers to have healthcare, and so do you. When someone goes to the hospital, which is where people often end-up without the well-care of a primary-care physician, they are not turned away or asked for payment in advance. They are treated for their illness. If they can't pay, the cost of their treatment is not absorbed by the hospital, it is passed on to the paying customers so that the hospital can stay in business -- the same way that a small independent auto shop or a trucking company, for example, would handle it.

While I disagree on many points I will bring up only 2 . Having run a Small and large automotive shop . Paying Custmers do not end up paying for ones that don't pay . Its simple you don't pay you don't get your car back . And it can be sold . Some times we get cars that are not worth the cost of repairs ,so you get the money up front .

Point 2 . Forcing people to buy health insurance is wrong in so many ways . And if people don't becuse its cheaper to pay the fine what good is it ? Its a tax .
