I assume their are rollers on the salon door? Are they available?

I have been trying to figure out how to get mine off the tracks so I can make sure I get the correct size rollers. Anyone know the secret? Thanks in advance.

Just grab the door on sides, lift straight up. When its high enough, you can tip the bottom out of the frame. The rollers are adjustable for height so someone may have set them too high so you cant lift and tip. If that is the case, there is a #1 phillips you can reach from each end of the door, crank them down a little and try again.

BTW, I found bearings at the local hardware store that matched the diameter. That and a couple custom roll pins and mine was fixed for < $25 bucks

Thanks for the link. Now to get it accomplished with everything else on my list.

I zoomed in on one of my old pics and tried to show how you get to the adjustment screws. The screw is recessed about 2-3" inside this hole (phillips head screwdriver required, I believe), and there is another hole on the other end of the door for the trailing edge.


As far as problems lifting the door off - the rollers are spring loaded. After pulling the L-angle off, you may have to lift the door and wedge a short piece of 1x2 under it, then get down on your hands and knees with screwdriver to try to 'lift' the rollers clear of the track. Helps to have a second set of hands for this - one person handling the door, the other lifting the rollers clear.

Captain Maniac's door is different than Diverted's 1982 model.

Get down on the cockpit and look at the door. The lower door track is held on by maybe 6 phillip head screws which screw in through door track. Remove these screws, the track assembly will be also be lightly caulked as well. You may also have to remove the rubber door stop, port side of door.

Once all these screws are out, open the salon door and tilt out on door and lower track, with the bottom of door and track coming outward from the bottom (into cockpit). The top of door assembly just comes out of upper guide once you have the bottom out, tilted away and slightly downward.

Once you have the assembly out, you can slide the track assembly off of door and replace rollers. Reinstall in reverse order.

Looking below the track, you'll see the screws you need to remove, they run horizontally.
