'75 44 Sportfisher

Post by Fjforty76 »

I am looking at a '75 44' Sportfisher with twin VT903s, low hours. Current owner has done many upgrades. I cannot find any information on 44' Sportfisher models from '75.

Does anyone have knowledge or personal experience with this model Trojan? Any and all info is greatly appreciated.

These are fairly rare. There is one near me that usually charters out of Port Credit, ON, but saw them sitting in my marina yard a month ago with a big diesel (DD I think) sitting in the yard beside it. Rebuild time I guess.

Yes the boat I am looking at is in Friday Harbor, WA. It has Cummins VT903s, some nice upgrades. I just cant find any info on them.

Rare can be good, as in having a boat not everyone else has (like a Baylemon). But then again rare can be bad ie difficult to fing parts, poor construction etc

Really No issues getting parts for the boat it self Many OEM parts at Beacon marine . And there are many ways to work around ways too . The 903 Cummins are a . Great engines May take some effort to get some parts and some one that can work on them . I strongly recommend you join Boatdiesel so you can read up on them or any diesel you are thinking about .
