You may get lucky many don't like it . Removing mine was my first improvement I did to my F36 .That light made it hard to see at night . But unless you have another place to mount a light you don't have much of choice . I was lucky and had a hard top .

As prowlersfish mentioned, there are valid reasons to replace the original anchor light. In fact, that is one of the reasons we installed a radar arch on our boat. If you are still looking for a light mast, I have one that I might part with.

The reason I'm interested in the original is because my flybridge still has the old holes for the mast and outriggers. And the mast light I currently have is shot. I would rather install the original for now and when I redo the fly bridge I'll change to the radar arch. This years budget is small due to all the repairs I need to do to make it safe on the water. Just looking to have a working light and cover the old ugly holes at the same time. I uncovered the lower hole a few weeks back.

If the mast is OK but the light itself is shot, why not just replace the light head? You can get a new one for about $40 at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Perko-1197DP0CHR ... PF3PEDSG9J

I still have to repair the holes from the original light mast. For now, I have just the screws back in the holes with a gasket and backer in the big hole for the wiring. Next winter when the boat is on the hard, I will be doing fiberglass repair on the flybridge and will address these holes along with painting the flybridge as the gelcoat is worn away in places.

That Perko lamp will fit perfectly on the Trojan mast . I cover up the big hole on mine with a piece of starboard fwiw .

I guess I'm just a stickler on making things as original as possible. So some how I'll get my hands on the original light mast. My flybridge is in good shape so a good buffing and it should shine up nice..

OK I think I'm ready to close up the cockpit bilge with the new deck. All I need to do is replace some framing that I already have milled and ready to install. Clean up the wiring and add wire management where needed. Suspend the mufflers from the new framing. Then sheet the deck with plywood and fiberglass the whole deck. Bilge is cleaned up and painted and turned out really nice. It think I'm going to make a removable wood grate to cover the bilge area under the hatch to protect the steering tie rods from getting jammed up with something. That way I can use the space for storage too.

Thanks Captrichc… Should be done framing everything this coming weekend. Then plywood with fiberglass/gelcoat and then some non skid of some sort...

That Perko lamp is the same that was on my Trojan mast, and also the same that came with the mast I bought from Atlantic Towers.

Ok I'm almost there.. lol. As always I didn't accomplish what I wanted to but I did make progress. One note I would like to throw out there. The old framing was white oak. After much deliberation I went with treated yellow pine instead. My thought being if treated wood was around back in the day manufactures would have probably used it instead. Either way this framing is built stronger and more robust than the old framing and I'm sure will last another 40 odd years. Next step is to remount the muffler straps to hold the mufflers level with the LWL. Then lay the marine plywood decking. Notice the larger deck hatch it will finish at 36" x 49". This makes the area under the cockpit more accessible, therefore more useful. I moved the water pump back towards the bulk head to keep it out of the way. And I'm making a new mount for the Trim Tab Pump so it stays out of the way as much as possible.

Just a thought, while you guys have it open have you considered replacing the exhaust hose, it looks pretty old.

I can still access the exhaust hose and I inspected the few small pieces connecting the exhaust pipe to the muffler and Thru hull fittings. It all is still in good shape as far as I can tell.
