Anyone put wood paneling on their ceilings

I had an idea of putting thin wood 4x8 sheets of cherry paneling up ? Would it stay if I use adhesive.im not sure of the thickness of the wood that up there now and don't want to go thru to the outside.will it sag in the middle

I don't know why it won't. I have this ugly cover on it now that looks like car head liner in it now which is rip in places and under neath is plywood varnished. Put still plywood

I said I have not seen it done not that you could not . If it was mine I would replace the head liner . But its yours so you can do it your way or anyway you please . You have to look at and like what you see , not me :D ( not a fan of paneling )

I used 1/8 Luan plywood on the ceiling of my F26. Painted white and used 1 1/2 battens on the seams. If you have a solid ceiling to attach it to contact cement might work well.

I had to repair a previous owner repair and used white oak sheets that I coated with epoxy on the back before installing. Then stained and varnished to match the other wood.

I have not, but I plan too. Mine has wood slats that I plan to screw and glue to.
