Thru Hull SV valves ( check )

Post by BeaconMarineBob »

When we get calls for engine overheating problems we always recommend checking there Groco SV thru hull valves if the Trojan is in salt water. We have reconditioned SV 750 and 1250 Groco valves and well has the hard to find nozzle gasket.

Wow! I just moved my boat from fresh to saltwater. Any idea when the last time a human laid eyes inside that valve?

I'm guessing a routine exercising of the valves to ensure they work in an emergency was not part of the oil-checking exercise.....
I needed a less expensive hobby, so I bought a boat!
