Fresh water holding tank

Post by jdiaz10.8meter »

Good evening all, I am having a situation locating the fresh water tank on my boat. I have a 1988 10.8 meter Trojan International convertible. I noticed how important it is to know how much fresh water I have left onboard after a full weekend out on the hook. I followed my hose which goes from the starboard gunnel and crosses the firewall into the galley. I have no hatches(that I know of) in order to check my water levels. I would like to install a sender of sort but don’t know where to start. Any info helps. Thanks!

1983 10 meter International here.

The early Internationals and all later non-midcabin based Internationals featured both fresh water and black water tanks designed and built into the hull.

The fresh water tank is centerline in the floor of the salon, beneath the floor storage compartment.

The hose exits the back of the tank, in the forward bilge.

I faced the same dilemma as you.

Out on the hook not knowing how much water remains in the tank.

This was solved by adding a water meter connected to a digital readout.

Click this link:

and follow the photo links for photos.

Also, published data show this to be a 40 gallon tank.

I have verified that mine is actually holding 47 gallons.

Hope this helps.

BEST !

Wow I thought I had a clean build! Great job on that refurbish. Boat looks great. I will look for one of the meters and add it after the fresh water pump. Thanks for your help.
