Thanks for the compliment ! Let me tell you it has been a long road doing all the work myself. Now on to finishing the galley and all the flooring.

I can see you have spent a great deal of thought ,time and hard work. Can't wait to see what you come up with for the finishing touches. Nice job.

May I suggest something as I did the same thing, the styrofoam under the deck hatches is a hazard but can be covered with some nice heavy sound insulation foam with fire proof barrier on the outside. I can say it does work to cut down salon noise and heat from the floor hatches.

Good luck.

Thanks for the compliments ! It has been a great learning experience !
As for the hatches that is the next task. I need to replace the wood and also get rid of the white foam which was there when I got it.
I'm going to use an Automotive heat resistant and sound detinning material used for under hoods.

It has been a long time but as I remember it was about an inch thick foam with a heavy solid rubber layer inside, there is 1.5" as well, it had a mylar foil covering and a rating of about 25db sound drop.
The stuff is quite heavy ! I just put it over the styro that was there and held it on with those nails that hold house foam board on, the ones with the plastic washers. Also it was not cheap, I checked and the same place I got it still sells it, but is in Canada and has no brand name, sorry that is all I got.I think this product may be sold under a few names though.
