Any boat can be saved throw enough cash at it. Salt or fresh water? how long has it been down? Likely looking at a repower unless it's a short time and you get the engine pickled. Pulling it on 9/23 is a long time how long has it been in? Have any photos now In the water ? I know some things about these feel free to ask. What I don't know I can find out most likley.

Yes we have did a number of them and know about what needs to be done ... But never a Trojan and this size and underwater for this long ... The guy got sick right before the last Hurricane in La, ... They just want it up and out so we made a deal to get it moved for them ... From what they said and are getting together is all the original paperwork on the boat .... and yes on 9/23 ... The boat has all ready have been under for a good min and it is in fresh water ... In this particular situation we are not just jumping out there to get it done because it's been under for this long ... no point in paying the guys more hrs to run out there on short notice ... and I will edit the first post adding the two pictures I have right now ... what got me thinking and posting on here is that  I can't find this boat this size this year anywhere ... like it never existed :?: ... I would post the papers we have on it but that will be a little later ...

I understand but I still can not wrap my head around why NO ONE has pictures of this boat lol ... I have find hard to find rare boats but something all ways comes up lol ... and yes that's what I am wondering too and its been like 3yrs LOL ... from what I have found the haul is 1" fiberglass and the superstructure and top side is good fiberglass only wood was all the teak they had in it ... they are getting all the pictures they have together too so more good lol ... So at the least well have the paperwork and pictures to share on this boat ... BUT a REAL BIG BUT haha ... after we get it up and washed IF structure hold up this long lol I will dye it out and gut it ... and I will be posting videos and pictures of it all ...

Would like y'all thought on about just turning it into a displacement haul :?:

Now this is all a big IF the boat is saved not to much damage to haul and fiberglass ...

If the back end is around off to help the water flow and it would add more haul in the water that would help a little on speed ... So it would end up as a nice size swimming and diving platform on the back ... Then the boat could take ether Twin electric 80kw motors or Twin Yanmar 4LV250 ...

Out of those two the Twin Yanmar would be ideal looks like the RPM sweet spot would be around 3k with a nmph around 9 on haul size in water and a fuel gph of 7 - 7.5 ... :?: just thoughts going around lol

or just replace the cuimmin's with Yanmar 8LV370 ...

Cummins 6CTA 450 or QSC would be the ticket. Its a heavy planning hull. heavy iron is called for.

I had looked at that engine 450 and the guy at Cummins said not a good choice for the 44 because of the water line and weight putting it right at the not recommend length ... and plus I don`t like the fuel consumption to weight on Cummins .. the hole point to the 903 was they wanted a smaller engine from what I have read about it ... so going after a engine that is 950lbs to a Cummins that`s 1600lbs with about same power out would be better for a all ready heavy boat :?: plus the newer liter engine gets way better fuel consumption.. should not it be alot better to go newer up to date engines :?: and from what i have found the Yanmar`s are getting a very good review`s one of the best ... idk that`s just what i have picked up from different place and ppl on the water alot ...

Not sure where you're getting your info. The Cummins 903 is a large not a compact engine 903 cid and 3600 lbs. The other diesel option was the 671 DD also. both heavier than the 6BTA or QSC. Not sure who you talk to at Cummins but maybe they felt you need even more engine like the QSM11 ? The QSC or QSM are electronic and would be a bit better on fuel like the Yanmar. Other good engines Are Cat C7 or C7.1 or even C9.
If going with Yanmar the 6CX / 6lpyseries and some other 6 cly inline are worth looking at. The Yanmar 8LV370 is light and higher reving and less displacement so its not a good choice for a boat like this. And I thought you will find a big sporty depowered with one.

The cost of new diesels is nuts and not worth it. Even good used with be costly.

Sorry the 1600lb is the 6CTA 450 … and yes the price on new diesels is crazy … that’s why I was hopping the 8LV370 would work could get 2 for a damn good price … that’s why I was thinking of turning the boat into a low speed around 9… Ok thanks I will look into the 6CX when I get time today …

When I had said small to the 903 was not to the weight or the engine it self yes it’s big lol …

The V903 was originally developed for the on-highway truck and construction markets to meet the requirements for a lightweight, compact diesel engine in the 280-320 hp range. It went on to make its mark in other applications such as recreational and commercial boats, mining equipment, and farm tractors.
