I am looking for some input, our 1989 Trojan 12M Convertible came with a Bow Davit but no information about it.
Maybe some on the forum has a similar setup and could shine some light on the lifting capacity. The Standpipe is 4"OD,
3.5"ID and 65" long.
The unit works well but I do not want to overload it. The new 11 ft Tender I am looking at comes in at just shy of 400 lbs.

Thanks in advance.

No direct experience with this unit, but I can't believe that 400 lb would be an issue. That is not very much as far as lifting goes, and what would be the point of having a crane that only lifts as much as you can? From the pics, it looks like hook height over the rail may be an issue.
I needed a less expensive hobby, so I bought a boat!

thanks for the input, can clear the rail fine with my current 10 ft tender which has 16-inch tubes,
is a Mercury Airdeck, weight is less than 200 lbs including the engine.

the weight of the object is multiplied by the length of the swing arm

I assume the support tube goes well down into the boat and is well secured. If so you will have no issue with 200, and likely a lot more.

Happy New Year,
found another boat with the same davit setup in Fort Pierce and got hold of the owner as well.
His tender was 625 lbs, lifting was no problem at all, and my worries are gone. :D
