After making peace with the fact that the freeze/casting plugs were rotting, and that there's not enough room in the engine bay to get to them. we make plans to pull her. So a few pics after we took her out back in November. The hardtop came off, and out came the 318. Presently waiting on a new plastic gas tank, back ordered like everything else in America right now. Then we'll start putting her back together.

That's some work right there. Nice opportunity to spruce things up while it's open.

Even the ATF has federal firearm licensee packets on back order. When you apply, you get a letter saying check back later.
I needed a less expensive hobby, so I bought a boat!

It took about 4 months for this gas tank to come in! But it's here, so it's time to start putting things back together . . .

A few more pics, some boat polishing is happening while waiting on engine reinstall. You can see the hardtop off and laying on the cabin. And getting ready to rename her so the old "MARHABA" had to go. A lot should come together in the next two weeks, we'll see.

Awesome job! I just purchased a similar model and began a remodel myself. You took it a lot further than I did though so thanks for the inspiration! I'll watch this thread and start one of my build as well.

Well, three years later here's a brief report! Engine rebuild, new gas tank - the old galvanized tank was sloughing off galvanization, new head and black system, redid the teak last year, adding shore power water heater, refrigerator, microwave, new potable water system with filtration. Upcoming a refresh of 12 volt system and lights, then a refinish of cabin interior and bedding. Longer term have a water leak on forward windows to reseal, and new windshield glass needed on side glass. Have enjoyed every bit of this, which must mean I'm crazy.

Great color on the transom, is that color on the whole boat or just the transom?
Keep up the great work, I can appreciate first hand what's involved.
Looking forward to more updates.

The blue is only on the transom right now. The marina boat yard is planning to put in a paint booth/room in the next year or so, and I think I'll have the hull painted the same color. The hull appears to have been painted sometime in the past, a so-so job and it's beat up.

New water pump installed, new flexible water tubing throughout, new 4 gallon shore power water heater, new filtration for dedicated potable water faucet, and overall view of the new "kitchen". Shore power refrigerator, microwave, water heater, new GFI receptacles. Currently rewiring all AC shore power.
