Engine Mounts

Post by lbswaff »

Hello all, the time has come for me to pull my engines and tranni's out for replacement. I noticed that some of the lag bolts that hold the engine mount to the rib are snapping deep in the wood. Anyone have any ideas how to prevent this or how to get the broken bolts out of the wood rib without destroying it. Thanks for the help.

How deep are they snapping off ? If pretty deep you could go to a larger diameter bolt that is shorter . your could change mounts to one with a different foot print ( fill the old holes with epoxy ) and of course you can try drilling the old bolts out .
