New 17x20 Props on Twin Cummins F32 work GREAT!

Post by rossjo »

I just had the bottom cleaned, new zincs and swapped out the 16x17 props for 17x20s on my 1974 F32 w/ Cummins 6BTA diesels (220HP/ea) and 1:1 Velvet Drives.

With the tabs lowered some, she must be brought up to speed slowly, but she climbs to full RPMs and my top speed jumped from 21 to 28 mph! I am VERY happy - and will work on improving cooling, etc. so I can run at these elevated torque levels. I can slow to 2,000 RPM and run at my previous 20-21 mph peak - ALL DAY!

Need thse P7100 fuel pumps and injectors for my 6BTAs - add 50 HP per engine easily!

If I had 100 gals less fuel, 30 gals lees water and 3 less people, I could reach 30!
