F-26 Mods...sure it will create get Trojan owners attention!

Post by Paul - SW Ontario »

Look at the Photobucket post I just put on for the pics...of some modifications I have done to my Express.

Please don't judge them negatively, as I have put alot of thought and workmanship into them.

Just posting them for those who might have entertained the ideas before, but have chose not to.

Note: the pics of the swim platform do not have all the supports put in place at this point...

By the way...that railing is off an '86 25.5 Thundercraft...and I shortened all the uprights...gives the boat a more sleek longer look...(I think)

Fun in the sun!!!

Man, am I jealous. That is some kinda sweet. You musta been bustin your hump for some time now. The cabin is gorgeous. Did you redo the wood on the head walls? Did you redo the bowrail and put on the anchor pulpit? I love the door in the transom, I'd kill for one when we go diving. Not sure about the swim platform, looks like alot of torque will be put on the supports. Will there be longer supports underneath? Are the decks new? Can you come for a long visit to my house!!

Yes...did the bow anchor platform, the transom walk thru and the swim platform myself...the transom walk thru has a door as well now (removable)

The Swim platform supports that you see in the pics are not complete...there are now 5 additional 1" stainless supports to the aft edges from the lowest parts of the transom....and the transom is re-enforced on the inside with 1/2" steel plating from stringer to stringer.

She's pretty solid!

A work in progress...

Thanks for the compliments.

Paul, my hats off to you!! You did an outstanding job and should be very proud, I really like how all your woodwork came out. Did you use starboard or something similar for the pulpit and transom door? Wish I had one of those doors as well. Hope you have a great season,
Matt

Looks real good, I am currently doing something similar to my cabin (replacing the wood by the side windows) .

What did you use for the black kitchen counter and fridge face?

Yes, I used Starboard (Marineboard / Densitec) for the anchor platform (1"), transom door (1/2") and swim platform (1")...

The countertops and fridge face were coated with a roller using black melamine paint.

Cheers...

P.S. about the Florida vacation...I would have to be a millionaire to pull the Express all the way to Florida...lol...

The invite stands, my Chevy 2500 hd 4x4 gets 8 mpg pulling the boat. Plan to vacation in Key Largo this fall, from north Fl. Well kept secret- Pennekamp only charges $26 a night including w+e for transient dockage!!
