10.8 Macerator pump

Post by fourreins »

Just following up to my original maceratot pump question. I have been told that I should have a y valve prior to the pump so that I can direct either to the pump or to the pump out. I do see the y valve but I do not see any type of lever to divert one way or the other. Is it possible it may not have a lever? Maybe when the pump is in use it just pulls it to the pump??? Any help would be great becuase it is driving me crazy. Afgain.. I have a 1989 10.8 meter international

there should be a "TEE" from the tank with one side going to your deck pumpout fitting and the other to the macerator.

No Y valve on my 10 Meter1983 International.

Do you need to move a lever to direct it to the macerator or just turn on the pump out switch? It looks like I just hit the switch. I am new to boating and many other boaters seem to think I would need the open a shut of lever on the hose and also turn the pump on. I don't see any lever?????

there is no Y valve in the FACTORY setup.

You cannot run the macerator for overboard discharge unless:
1 the seacock at the fitting is open
2 you are 3 miles out.
