Wowzer's got a point about the handling. You might want to consider installing these batteries at the back of the engine bay near the rudder. The extra weight at this location will improve the handling in a following sea. I added a 200 lb generator at this location in mine and definatly noticed this handling improvement.

I think I will do that. I just wanted the Inverter close to the batteries.

Is the inverter ignition protected? If not you could still install it in the cabin, just be sure to size the wire correctly.

No its not ignition protected. I just thought running long cables would be decreasing watts per ft of wire.
