Recovering a '96 Trojan 39 footer from the depths. Hope it didn't find it's way back into the market place...

I'm wondering if sea tow picked up the tab for that.

Sea Tow was the salvor... They get paid by the insurance company to recover the vessel. Not sure what you meant by picking up the tab.

That was awesome! Never saw that before. Too bad the market sucks - Will they recover their cost of salvage do you think?

That video was really interesting. What do you think the bill was for something like that?

Most likely in the tens of thousands!
This is one example of why it's so important to have insurance!!
The CG will make you raise your vessel if it's a hazard to navigation or an enviromental hazard. Fines can be heavy as well.

These recovery specialists do this every day...for money, not to be good samaritans. Insurance companies will almost always try and recover a vessel to determine why it sank, mechanical failure or operator negligence even fraud perhaps... and to deem value, total loss or not...

Here is just one link which will help you understand the difference in towing vs. salvage.
