A guy I knew had one of those awhile back.
Very pretty boat.

He couldn't get rid of it 5 years ago. Sold it for half of what he owed on it.

Luckily for me, I don't owe anything for it, but it's killing me to have it listed so low.... I hate it..

Well after talking back and forth and making these people our friends, they cannot get rid of the loan on their boat so the trade isn't happening BUT last Sunday 2 guys came out and looked at the boat and are interested although one guy LOW BALLED me severely and I rejected his first offer. The second guy might come through. He seems to be the type of Tinkerer that would appreciate the boat.

I feel for you, it is definately a buyers market for those with cash, we just went through the buying experience and lenders will almost not loan money on anything older that 10 years old. a few lenders will but at a much higher interest rate plus a minimum of 25% down, but most wanted 30 to 50% down.

If you truly need to sell the boat, take the first decent cash offer you get, because for the most part, its cash or nothing for older boats during this time of Obama economic boom

Yea, I had a verbal offer for $25k down and me finance the rest that I was gonna take BUT he backed out at the last moment.
Had another guy offer me $25k via email. I think it was a joke. Every once and a while I get stupid emails.

tight credit availability + bad economy + 36 year old boat + high O&M costs for a boat that size + general lack of confidence in short term/long term global financial situations = difficulty selling boat

Most folks with that much available cash will be drawn to a newer vessel.

Our vintage Trojans appeal more to tyhe knucklebusters like us who are willing to grab a wrench or hammer when necessary.

A vanishing breed we are!
