VENT LOUVER DIRECTION 0N F32?
77 F32 - WHICH DIRECTION SHOULD THE FORWARD BILGE VENT LOUVERS FACE??? IT SEEMS THE AFT VENT LOUVERS SHOULD FACE FORWARD TO PRESSURIZE THE BILGE, AND IT SEEMS THE FORWARD VENT LOUVERS SHOULD FACE AFT, SINCE THEY ARE FED BY HOSES AT THE LOWEST POINT IN THE BILGE. PROBLEM IS, ON THIS BOAT THEY ARE ALL FACING FORWARD. I BELIEVE THAT MAY BE AN ERROR. REVIEWING IMAGES OF DIFFERENT BOATS, I SEE THE LOUVERS POINTING IN BOTH DIRECTIONS.

"here we go"
Not sure what you mean???
This topic has been beaten pretty hard in the past. If you do a search for "louvers", "side vents" or "bilge vents" you'll find much conversation on the subject. That said, mine are facing forward in the back and rearward in the front. Scooping in water while running would not be good but has been a concern.

The Forward vents face aft the aft face forward on your boat . the forward vents have hoses on them that go to lower part of bilge so the fumes can be removed . Why use the forward vents to remove fumes ? I would guess its because they are closer to the engines

On my F32, the forward vents face forward, and the aft vents face aft.
By the way - welcome aboard- 1st member from Alaska?????
But, I do see these ads (fun anyway), showing them installed incorrectly like Paul's from the factory
You'd think the factory would know better ...
(isn't that King Paul in the white pants standing in the cockpit in the 1st ad?)

Ross yes your vents are backwards BUT you do not have gas engines so the Gas fume issue is not there . But they are Backwards . Now deasels Suck a lot of air so they may have been turned around for that resone or you just screwed up ??? THE KING HAS SPOKEN
BTW mine are backwards also along 1 backwards blower (have3). becuse of the diesels .
Do Not do this on a gas boat !! the must be right on a gas boat so the fumes are removed for the lowest point as gas fumes sink

i love that f32 express!! there is one for sale cheap but i can't justify the shipping cost from the east coast. what happened to that guy who had the 10 meter express? he was on here for awhile asking about driving his boat across lake michigan and then never heard from again! that was one cool looking boat and i've never seen another one like it.
life is tough! it's even tougher if your stupid.

Vent configurations changed a bit from year to year. In '78 both the forward and aft vents were in the hull side, the forward being an exhaust and the aft being an intake.
In '79 the vents were changed and the forward vent was moved to the side of the salon (ie above the deck). For this year, the forward vent is an intake, and the aft vent is an exhaust.

I think I'll turn both of mine aft for aerodynamic efficiency!
2 from Alaska. - nice. That Anchorage season has to be short now. Nice to own your boat 20 years ... I'd love to boat up there and see the mountains!
