Interior plywood veneer

Post by farfrompuken »

Does anyone have any ideas of what to use on the factory plywood veneers inside to brighten it up? It's kind of dull. Tried oil that doesn't work. Was going to try either water based urithane or convensional.any other sugestions?

Did you use a real cleaner first to get all of the dirt and old oil out ? That's the way we do it every spring and seems to work best.

Last year I tried everything you can think of, but only lasted a few days before lookin dull again. I tried a out of way spot and varnished it. It looked great, and still does now, so this summer I'll continue doing small areas at a time, till I get the formica covered with the same stuff. Can't remember name of it now, but will get it in the morning, and post it.

Here is the products I was talking about. I'm only using the clear (varnish) to cover the paneling, be it Formica or veneer.

Hope this helps.
