PULPITS
HOW LONG AND WIDE SHOULD THE ANCHOR PULPIT BE ON A 30 FT LONG BOAT IN GENERAL IF SOMEONE WAS TO ADD ONE
Mine
I added a 42" x 14" x 1-3/4" pulpit to my F32 about 2 years ago. Gelcoated Fiberglass with 1.5oz mat 1708 biax material over 3/4" Marine Plywood - 28lbs ... eBay seller OUTLAW$0. He still sells them ...

I added a nice Stainless anchor roller and 1/2" Stainless bolts and a heavy 316 stainless 8" cleat to finish it off.
Works great.

pulpit
have you any closeup pics of your installation? i also am interested the wife is getting tired of pulling up the anchor on our f32. could you also describe how you mounted it i ll assume through the deck, backing etc? thanks
Stainless bolts
1/2" Type 316 Stainless bolts and an 8" cleat with through bolts to large backer plates made of 1/2" Starboard with large (2"Dia) Washers .... I'll send pix when I get a chance (hard to get pix, when its gets dark @ 5:30).
I haven't added the Windlass yet - 2008 we hope. My wife (and friends) can't do the anchor any more, so I do it - ha!
I did go to a Fortress aluminum anchor - and would recommend it to everyone! Its light, but hooks up bette rhtna the old heavy galvanized Danforth. I simply bought 1 size larger than Fortress recommend, added a type 316 Stainless, 1/2", 6' long ahcnor chain. Its light, hooks well, and much easier to pull up!
If you're on a budget - Fortress makes the Guardian series, which I use on my 18' Center Console (we lose these to rocks occasionally, so we went cheaper). FOr inshore use - I use a Cajun anchor - whihc is a 5' long pice of 3/4" Type 316 Stainless rod with a shackle at the end with a 15-20' line on it. Just drop it straight into the water, and it sitcks in the mud like glue. Just pull it up or back the bota up to remove, and it slides right ourt of the mud. VERY easy (made this myself or they're $90 online).
Not sure how thee work on hard bottom, becuse we have pluff mud and sand here.

I'll look
I'll look for a photo tonight - or just go take a couple and send.
I used a WIndline model AR-5 Stainless bow roller ...
Anchor is a Fortress FX-23 (1 size larger than recommended) with 6' of Type 304 Stainless 5/16" PC proof anchor chain (2,425lb. working strength, 7,275lb. break strength).
I did cut out the sides (up to the wood level) to form to the the shape of the raised section around the bow, and then used plenty of 5200 beneath and to seal it. It looks factory, and the stainless roller works great.

F32 Pulpit Pix
F32 Trojan Pulpit Pix:
Still need to pull those ugly anchor chocks off of my deck. I got rid of my deck mounted red/green nav lights and went with bridge mounted LED units - much cleaner look.
I plan to rpeplace the crusty stainless(or are they chromed brass?) fittings with new Type 316 Stainless fittings soon (?when?) as well!

Almost 3 1/2 years later I put the pulpit on , I changed mine and put the roller at the front ( covered and filled the hole ) and then left it out back in the shop for about 3years , I was in no hurry
