mini dash lights

Post by WALTER GURAVSKAS »

I have an 1984 10 meter express, the dashboard has these mini lights that light up the words bilge pump-nav. lights ect. . They have two wires and slide into a 1/4 inch hole. (very small lights ) I have searched high and low with no luck. Has anyone had to replace these lights before, if so where did you find them ? Thanks for any reply....

I have found very similar bulbs and sockets at Radio Shack.
I replaced the 3 bilge bulbs and holders on my upper helm with these 12v assemblies. Perhaps they will have something close for you.

Or call John @ MT and ask if he can direct you to where you may get them. Good luck.

Try GOOGLING "12v LED Lights". You can probably retrofit to single LED's, which are easy to wire, will fit into the hole, and last longer than any of us will. West Marine has some new bayonet mount single and double LEDs that also might fit what you're looking for. And, yes, Radio Shack might be a great source for the older incandescent mini lights as well as single LEDs.

I used the West Marine incandescents for the bilge pump lights and the dash indicator lights, which I put on that factory rheostat so I can get the brightness level down.
