32' Sedan Bridge with Yanmars less than 70,000?

Post by RWS »

69,000 for a F series with Yanmar Diesels?

Is this right, or is this vessel perhaps a bit underpowered?

I'm thinking a 32 sedan bridge must weigh about 12,000 and has a considerable amount of windage.

Perhaps Tony will weigh in on this one.

It may be a little underpowered but I bet it's very economical. I'd be interested to know at what RPM the 18 (knot /mph??) cruise is given... that may be MPH or if knots, might be 200 off the top which is pushing a little too hard for my liking.

It might not be though since my F-32 is powered by twin 200 HP Volvo diesels and it cruises at a legitimate 20 knots at 10% off the top.... (even though Volvo too says it can be run 200 off the top). So 18 knots might be right.

I'll be very interested to see if this boat moves close to that price in this market as I've been thinking of putting mine on the blocks.

I would agree with jav . It would be nice to know some speed vs rpm numbers . The price seems a liltle high ( I would sell my F36 for that )

JAV , are you really thinking of selling yours ? It has to be the nicest F32 out there .

Paul,

thanks for the kind words... if I felt for a moment I could get near that price, yes- I'd sell.

I'm also getting to that point in life where boating is getting tough to justify. I love it but, both kids are getting more and more into other weekend activities and the wife could take it or leave it so - it's a pretty selfish (and expensive) pleasure thats getting harder to enjoy.

The real kicker is this market... I don't think I'd get an offer I could accept and I love it too much to give it away.

One thing I've learned after 40 years of boating is that, for me it is not an investment, it is an expensive hobby with no financial return but MUCH pleasure whether it's a 10ft rowboat or a 50ft yacht. You can't buy sunrise on the water............just a thought......

Twin 170s

Post by rossjo »

Twin 170s in a 15k# F32 is a bit underpowered. I'd say 18mph would be absolute tops ...

Nice boat though ...

I agree on the underpowered.

It explains a lot.

Perhaps if she was 275 hp or so she'd be right where she needs to be.

Now it makes sense.

Thanks all for the answers to the post.
