Last year, our local fishing forum which had been around for about 6 years. It was a "Aimoo" sponsored board. Well, they did some beta testing and decided to overhaul their board...overnight!

Long story short, everyone was in the dark for days, then weeks with no help from the sponsor (overseas company, nonetheless) One of the members quickly opened up a free board which is going strong today. The original board never recovered- lost posts, info ,etc. It took a while for everyone to somehow find the new forum by way of mouth and emails. And we came back united. :D

Perhaps we should post (only if you want to..) our contact emails, should such a catastrophy occurr again? :?:

I have a copy of an article that mentions a company that owns the actual remmnants and new old stock of parts and service items remaining at Trojan's Lancaster production facilty when Miramar/Genmar/Carver bought the name and assets in 1992, ad the original molds were destroyed.

That's when new production was moved from Pennsylvania to Pulaski, Wisconsin. Any Trojan built after 1992 was basically a new design model from Carver with the Trojan name. These vessels had nothing in common with those built from 1952-1992.

As compared to buying items from the marine superstore conglomerates, I'd prefer to support the companies who support our orphan brand.

However I'm confused.

Does ayone know know if or how the two Pennsylvania companies of Beacon Marine (Bob) and Marine Tech (John) are related toeach other and or th original Trojan/Whittaker organization?
