SOLD THE FOOFER B
It was a sad day and it was a happy day, two weeks ago when my beloved F26 rode away behind a different truck. She is going to a good home, the new owner already has a generator installed, and plans to cruise with his wife and young children. I hope he has many fond memories aboard.
Hopefully, ya'll will let me continue to lurk about, throwing out facetious comments, and posting lots of pics. Foofer B.

I hated to sell "My Precious", but it was not well suited for what I wanted most out of a boat. I live 45 minutes from the coast and like to spearfish, bottom fish and troll. The old girl was a bit much to trailer and launch and took 2 hours to get 15nm offshore unless you (steal someone's credit card) and go fast. Another consideration was the 454 Crusader shoehorned into the engine compartment. It left NO ROOM to get to the equipment outboard off the engine. Therefore, manifold change meant---pull the engine, work on the holding tank meant---pull the engine, work on the pressure water system meant --- pull the engine...etc...you get the picture. Oh and I don't even wanna think about changing belts or water pump.

Here is my new boat. It's a 2003 20' key west walk around cuddy with a four stroke Yamaha 150 hp engine, and a Load Master dual axle tandem trailer with radial tires and all stainless hardware. I negotiated a great price, actually spending less than I sold my old boat for , and way under nada. It has gps, fishfinder, fuel flow meter, trim tabs, a 20 gal. live well, 60 gall fuel tank, dual batteries and uses corn gas. The Yamaha website has performance numbers for my boat and engine, showing 25mph at 3500 rpm burning 5gph and 30mph at 4000 rpm burning 4.6gph. Sweet! The fuel flow meter bore this out. Here's the numbers:

Wow, cruise at 25 mph and a top speed of 46 mph. I'm jealous. Oh the places I could see if my F26 could do 46, or even cruise at 25. Sounds like it's a good fit for the kind of boating you do. Enjoy.
But there will come a day that you will miss the ole girl and her cabin.

Roy,
Sorry to see the Trojan go, but I understand.
I never use my F32 offshore. Kind of silly to own a 32' twin diesel boat with outriggers to play in the harbor or up /down the ICW, but its all about economy and speed, isn't it?
One of my fishing buddies just traded in his 36 Tiara twin 450HP diesel boat for a 31 Pursuit with twin 300 OB's - much more cost effective and faster. Maiden voyage today (sadly I'm stuck here on the hill working).
Good luck! The Key West is a great boat - made right here in Charleston (Summerville) by Hutch and the boys. It will serve you well.
Enjoy!
