front window replacement

Post by jefflaw35 »

They put some serious urathane on these frames. The interior trim is screwed in from under the outer frame, kind of senceless to me. My interior headliner was under the trim. Why should you have to fully remove the outer window frame just to properly replace a cabin headliner? hmmm strange. Well I have 2 good frames ill store if anyone ever needs them.

Eventualy you get to start putting things back, I put my prop shafts back together today putting the dripless seal on the shaft for the time I am able to put em back in the boat.

hey MIke!! how have you been? Im gonna glass it in. Off shore fishing alot I hope and I have taken a boat under a swell before personally. Its very scary. and I do beleave these windows would give out killing all my cabin work, so they are going to have to go.

yes personally I dnt like the look. It is UGLY. That is why im going to paint the fake yacht black window look. MY closure will be right and look nice. I dont need sunlight with LED in the cabin. I personally wont be in there often

Doin' good Jeff thanx. Been hiking a lot. Check my picassa for photo updates on that topic. Here some to get you started. https://picasaweb.google.com/1060575514 ... teeth32112#

I think it should look just fine if you glass that area in. I've 'submarined' a few swells in the workboat before, and I know what you mean. Its definately a little spooky to have them coming over the windshield on you. Worse still when you have an 8 pointer tied down on the bow and it washes over the gutted carcas before dumping on you.

Keep up the hard work. It will pay off in the end. Looking forward to more updates.

The windows are very strong, I have accidentally had my 300lb carkiss step on my old one with no problem. That aside , these are not blue water boats.you do not want to venture out if the forecast calls for even a remote possibility of seas rough enuff to stuff the bow. Does that make scence?
