Another prop question

Post by jddens »

I have been following the prop/performance threads and have began to wonder if Time Warp is propped correctly. Seems from what I've read about bigger boats with smaller engines that maybe I should have better cruise performance at lower RPM. Here's the specs:

* Engines: 2000 TB merc 350's. port dyno'ed at 325, starboard dyno'ed at 330.
*Props = 15X17 RH and LH, 1 inch bore.
*400hrs on port motor, 20 on starboard motor.
*Hurth direct drive transmissions, not sure about the ratio, think 1:1.5 .....will try to get that info Friday.
* Fresh water boat with clean bottom.
* 3200rpm=17-18knots
* 2000rpm=8 knots
*not sure of WOT with new motor but old motor was around 30knot WOT approx 4800-5000rpm.

So what do you think about my numbers??? Thanks...........John

Performance sounds good to me. You do have more prop than me, I still have factory 14X11 cupped but then again you have alot more HP's than me (318's @ 225hp each). Hope she's running good with the new motor !

Thanks Lawman, I was beginning to wonder if I was going to get any responses. YES, the new (and old) motor are both running great......other than some very minor cosmetic projects my list is clear!! Was out twice last week and am going out tomorrow.......stripers (rock fish to you easterners) are running...... :D
