Thank you Aaron. I'm glad I could take you away from the not so good day. Hopefully, somewhere between RWS and Striperman, we can put out some good info on not only this boat, but all of Trojan's history. I find this stuff facinating.

Good luck,
Todd

Good find. I am going to forward this listing to the woman who had a question about the Carver Trojan 370. This is the same model and year she was looking at, but this one is diesel. Same price too.

Thanks again!!!

You are hull # 16. Not many made after yours. Post some photos if you can. I'd love to see your boat. Especially the engine bay.

hey todd, (or anyone out in trojan land) after seeing the vast amounts of internationals out there that are slowly being adopted and refit, and after having spent time on mike's 10m midcabin, i was wondering if you knew what motivated trojan in the 1980's to bring forth the international series. from a corporate decision, do you know exactly the whys and hows? i'm just curious as i remember when i saw the first one at annapolis how radical she was.
thanks for your help. again, i really enjoy this thread.....

Thanks guys. I never intended to become a Trojan nut when I first purchased the boat, and have had boats all my life without the "obsession" I have with this one. It really just began because I had a boat that was different from the other Trojans, and there was no real good info. Once I started the research, I found the topic facinating, and couldn't stop. My wife told me I might have a problem. I couldn't argue.

Aaron, I saw your question, but also saw RWS answer it in another thread. He's definately the king of all International model info. He has started a web page on just the international models, which I will eventually contribute the 10.8 express info when I have more than a minute break.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Glad you like the info.

How is your hull holding up? I have the same boat and maybe just a few hull numbers after yours. I can't find anything wrong with mine except from stress cracks along the chine. I think that was from a bad sling lift.

Hey Mike,

The boat continues to be very solid. I am currently restoring the radar arch. Apparently the previous owners thought it was too much work to properly bed and attach the various items on top of the arch, so there was some severe water intrusion on the top. It has been quite a pain, and I am just finishing the final coats. It was a much bigger job than I anticipated. I will be posting some pictures from the process when I'm finally done.

My next project will be replacing all the water and soil lines as well as the pumps.

Keep us posted on any projects you do. I'd be interested in following and seeing some photos.

Well I now have a little update. I have finally been able to contact Lee Dana, who retired as the VP of engineering at Bertram in 1990. So I was told by Charlie the Boat builder from the forum that Mr. Dana was the sole designer of the 10.8 Express's hull. I asked Mr. Dana via email about this boat and he said he did NOT design the hull. Hmmmmm.

Mr. Dana did confirm that Bertram did design a hull for Trojan just before he left in 1990 and wanted pictures of the boat to see if this looked familiar.

Mr. Dana wrote back and said it looked like a Bertram designed hull, and that Dave Napier was their designer in those days. He lost touch with Dave awhile ago and did not have any contact info.

So I'm back to what John Leed told me in the beginning, which was that Bertram was using Dave Napier to design the new Trojan International hull. Of course it would be nice to confirm this with the guy.
