How I spent my weekend...

Post by Stripermann2 »

Got down to the boat Saturday afternoon around 3 and started light sanding and scraping the boat's bottom. Completly stripped all the running gear, rudders, tabs and struts of barnacles. ( a grinder with a knotted wire wheel makes very short work of this! ) :D
Washed the boat...got up at 6 am yesterday and started taping and painting. Replaced all zincs, both trim tab hoses. While I painted, my good friend John, who has an F-36, waxed the boat to a nice shine. :D

It is nice to have friends who don't mind helping polish. You boat looks nice with that shine. I spent my week-end getting everything lined up to drain the fuel tanks so I can pull them out of the boat.

I would have prefered to have been sitting back on the boat chair enjoying the view.

and this is how i spent my weekend. cozumel mexico for all of 1.5 hrs then onto phoenix, arizona for a 26hr layover. the view from the 16th floor is great. until you walk outside and get slapped with the 122degree temps and a 30mph wind. it felt like being in a convection oven. it was a searing, stinging heat. i've never felt anything like it. and every flight for 3 days was weight restricted. i like warm, but that was ridiculous. i was so happy to spend this afternoon (monday) down on the boat, even between rain bands.
