Emergency Cross-Over wiring

Post by Stripermann2 »

Anyone have the wiring schematic handy for the Emergency cross over/parallel starting system? There are (3) cables coming from box, Red, Black and White. Looking for the termination of the white cable at the battery. Have my hunch but can't find my schematics at the moment and my nephew removed all the battery wiring when I pulled engines... :x

Thanks.
Jamie

That saves me from opening the box up. Is that a ground buss the white wires are going to in the box?
Thanks for the info. :D

I took pictures a couple of years ago and planned to draw it up (complete with wires labelled) but haven't gotten around to it. If I can find my notes I may be able to find time to draw it up before the week is out.

Some of the other wires are for things like power for the head (flush switch) and DC feed to the fridge. I forget at the moment what the other was.

Whites are the ground, big reds come from each side + Battery as all Battery grounds are common. A diode exist somewhere that allows the relay to kick in automatically upon starting or upon manually activating the emergency start switch. The other take offs are for accessories such as frig etc.

Looks like our wire colours are a bit different, but the connections appear to be the same.

Remember there is also a diode that automatically crosses the big relay when a switch is moved to start. It is in my 12 volt junction box on the f28. It has three connections to it. Middle one goes to relay activation circuit. Each end goes to one of the ignition start switches. Circuit is power enters one end then out the middle to the crossover relay. At least that is the way mine works.
