Ugh... Parts boat chopped up

Post by BobCT »

I am so aggravated right now. Over a year ago there was a 10m mid cabin about 40 miles from my house that showed up on CL. I went and looked at it and it was all intact. I even posted some pics here because it was a mid cabin with a unique layout at least in terms of where components were located (one gas tank, AC in engine room, etc.

Anyway, the guy wasn't ready to part it out. I keep in touch on and off still not ready. I said, I'm willing to pay thousands, not hundreds for the parts, I just don't want the hull. The winter goes by and I just called him. "I lost your number, I chopped it up in the fall and everything went into dumpsters". There were so many great parts I'm sick. It had beautiful teak doors for the head and stateroom and really cool teak shelves under the stateroom overhead storage. In addition to all the hard parts, dash panel, blah blah.

The odds of finding another parts boat with custom features near my house are zero. Dammit.

People do strange things. Hard to imagine not posting another CL ad before trashing the boat -- lots of lost $$$!
