Hokey Pete, its magic........
I sprayed easy off all over the black stripe I wanted removed, then ran around the boat like chicken little watching my gel coat turn yellow, then wiped the paint off and then sprayed with distilled vinegar and ....poof, back to white....

It works really, thanks guys.

wholly cow, i had a dream last night of what an f-32 would look like w/out the bridge.... and POOF!! here is a pic of one..... ya know what? i LIKE IT. i wonder if anyone has ever redone their f-32 with out the bridge permanently.....naturally, i want the vantage point of commanding from a fly bridge, but man, does it look good. what type of new hatches did you get? they look fantastic!!! did you have to do any glass//structural work to make them fit?

Well, hold the dream of leaving it off for the season. I only did it to fit her into my workshop, although I have been trying to convince my wife to let me leave the bridge off and paint the hull dark, but its not flying (no pun intended) she likes sitting up in the bridge and so do I but comfort vs vanity......apparently my wife is more practical. Ther has been two f32s sedan models for sale I have seen with the bridge removed one has a yellow hull and the other is pretty standard.

If you look though the ads "w/o flybridge" or "without" I am not sure what I did to hit them on google, but I did (but did not save the link). They do look nice.

The hatches are maxwell slim line (with polished frames)

And I did have to fill in about 2" on the sides and cut 2" front to back to make the openings square (trojan made then rectangle for some reason).

The bridge was an 'option' from Trojan for the F32 ... not standard equipment. But it looks like about 99% of the boats built included the option! I have only ever seen the bridge-less version in pictures on yachtworld.com and the like.

A friend of mine had one of those rare bridge-less F32's. Jackson Park Inner Harbor is a Chicago harbor that requires you to enter by going under Lake Shore Drive. The bridge is fixed. He loved the F32 design, but also loved the harbor. It was the right boat for him. The bridge-less version of the F32 is a good looking boat, but 99% of the people were right. The bridge belongs on the F32.
In 1985 the level of Lake Michigan rose. My 69 31' Trojan no longer fit under the bridge and I had to leave the harbor.
