duchess , you asked when did i purchase her and where do i go? i saw the ' carol lynda ' online at a brokerage on lac st claire north of detroit. so i bought a 92 diesel truck in northern saskatchewan and a tri-axle trailer that i picked up in eastern ohio , once my surveyor checked the boat . sept 07 we left elbow for the states in temps. that stayed in the 80's until oct. the marina owner let us stay 13 days free. people were great! we arrived back sept 20. google earth will show where we cruise. lake diefenbaker is a man made lake shaped like a capital T with 3 marinas. elbow [pop. 400] is at the junction of the parts of the T. 20 mi n, 20 mi s and 80 mi sw. ave. depth is 150 feet with numerous bays to anchor overnight. there are 3 other trojans at elbow , my f-31, two f-30's and a 68 i think 38 or 37. dean price

Bill be careful thats a pretty good run . In your earler post you said you did not think it would plane. why do you think that ? running off shore in cold water a boat needs to be at 110%

Will do, actually its going to be the warmer of all the days this week, with sunshine and calm seas, so Im hoping for a nice trip,

"but I realize she probably will not get up on plane," I read it as it would not get on plane , but after rereading it I guess you ment it wont plane at 12 mph . if she run at 15 knots or so with out pushing it you should be fine . I was thinking it just would not get on top I stand corrected .

Anyone heard from Bill ? wondering how the trip went

being i service elevators along the monmouth co shore line i was checking out the water yesterday 12-18 storry view lot of boats out black fish seas were 2-3 wind was 10-15 so weather wise it wasent to bad for his trip

We actually spend a lot of time just drifting in the harbor. We take a short cruise, and then shut off the diesels and drift: eat/drink/music. Many people come by and tie off to come aboard for a while, and we use NO fuel and its quiet!

Hey guglielmo6160, something off this topic, but you indicated on the jimini's pennants thread some time ago that you wanted one. Tried contacting you, but have been unsucessful. Let me know if you still want one. If so, e-mail me your postal mail address so I can send one out to you next week.

hello all,,,
well we made our trip, everything went well,
we actually stopped and docked the boat at my friends place in Jersey City, only because it got late pretty quick and we were all just tired from the trip,
everything went well, with the exception of just a couple of snags, but nothing major, and as you guys all knw theres always something with boating
the most interesting part of the trip was went we had just left our dock in the (and I sometimes cant even pronouce this name) Metedeconk River, we actually ran aground ,, right in the middle of the river,. For some reason a couple of boaters told me they remove the channel markers for the winter, wheter thats true or not, who knows. We literally had no water at all, maybe a foot , if that. So we waited and waited, but at the end, Sea Tow, pulled us off about 100 yards or so, and we were off again,
all was fine, but it put a serious delay on our trip,
Boy , I wish my sounder was a little faster,,,,lol

the boat performed fine, except I had a small problem with fuel diversion from one tank and the other, for some reason my starboard engine was not getting enough fuel from the tank, so I quickly opened the petcock to divert all fuel from all tanks to both engines, basically open all valves and either engine could feed off either tank. This worked fine, except at the end of our trip , we were left with a half tank on the port gauge, and almost an empty tank on the starboard side.

Ill look into that this weekend, Im not to concerned, it could be like Tom here mentioned, a faulty check valve or something to that effect,
I was considering electric fuel pumps, but Ill see .

I gotta say, I was a little nervous around the Sandy Hook waters, as it was dark, and way bumpy and the currents were ridiculous, but it made for quite the adventure, the windshields were getting frozen and well you know how that goes,
we were moving alont at about 15 knots, and I just dont see how you guys claim 25 mph out of these boats,, man I feel like I was beating the hell out the those engines,
maybe due to my job(mechanic,, ) I just know to much,,,lol
anyway,
whats the deal with the steam coming from the exhaust, not excessive, but it concerned me a little,
I think its just the climate and the water going through the system,
my last boat did that to,
well, maybe friday Ill finish the trip up the hudson , which will be a cake walk after yesterdays trip,

we were fortunate enough to have a dock right near the statue of libery as my friend lives there and owns his own dock, so we decided to call it a day and get some pizza and call it a success,
I felt it took forever to get to that damn Verrazano Bridge, (did I spell that right,,?)
and like I said, man those waters are tough, I was fighting the currents all the way,
