Hi Jamie - last answer of this seller was this:

i know exactly what i am trying to sell, do you know what i am trying to sell? I owned a trojan F 32 for 18 years.

I'm running away from this offer - still looking for some other offers :)

Well, here we have a 3 way conversation going on. I can tell you that the F32 came with wood framed hatches from the factory. Unless, someone can show me otherwise. Perhaps there is some misunderstanding in this conversation with this guy or perhaps for the last 18.5 years, the hatches were modified or replaced. IMHO, it's not worth dealing with him. Add to the fact, that you are well over the pond away from this seller.

Yep...I just now read the ad. So, they were made for him but still, 3K for the hatches? He needs to put that crack pipe down...

+1

I can understand replacing the factory installed ones if they were full of problems or you wanted a different appearance than the teak. 3 grand for used stuff is crazy though. I understand international shipping is expensive (and slow), but that is still way too much. Find a better deal.

Why do you need new hatches? If the frame in the deck is OK why not make the top hatch look different.......
Have you thought about changing the original white plastic to new black smoked plastic and painting the hatch frame black? Like these which came from my buddy's boat when he put in the new styled low profile hatches shown in my earlier post.

vs these which are original

They are now Jamie's spares

Rite. About 450 is what I have seen too. So a grand for the lot plus shipping? Is that still too much for second hand goods?

Thanks all of you guys for your nice statements :D

This seller must have some kind of disease to offer a replacement for wooden hatches (driving this vessel for about 18 years) and had never seen that before

Our F-32 has still this brown or smoking glass wooden hatches as you can see here:

From UV-light the plexi glass has thousands of small cracks and I would never step a feet at this.

Will keep my eyes open to find some replacement - but it don't have to happen this year.

Why not just put new plexiglass on the hatches?

Hello Michael - cause the first sentence of my thread:
My F-32'er owner asked me today if it is any solution to replace all 3 hatches in to newer ones.
Detlef likes more cleaner and deeper hatches as originally installed.

This is what it looks like with the hatches removed:
Notice the solid wood surrounding the opening for the hatch bases to fit into, hence why I say cut one side larger to accept a standard hatch which is normally equal sided unlike the existing Trojan hatch..... you will save much money to use a standard cleaner hatch.

Hi Michael, thank's for your advice - I will have a speech about your arguements with Detlef.

Do you have (or somebody else) the measurement of the neckline in Inch & Meter ?

So I can look for any hatches a little bit larger :D
