The switch on top is for the factory "high bilge alarm". if the pump fails or bilge floods too fast, that switch will set the horn off every few seconds to alert surrounding people of an issue.
it also will scare the crap out of you if you accidentally lift it by mistake while crawling through the bilge.

Sounds like you speak from experience. Thanks for the explanation.

Todd, how does it do that? Is there a timer circuit on board somewhere for that?

I don't know why, but mine doesn't seem to go off and on, like a turn signal flasher - unless it's that I never left it on long enough to find out if it would.....

Either way, what a really NICE feature !

Here's what it says in the owners manual about the high bilge alarm. look at note #5 on the first picture below and the upper right of the second picture shows the delay relay. mine goes off and on like a turn signal.

The weather was not helping much today but I managed to cover the entire boat in fiberglass dust once again! I ended up having to notch the outside stringers to make room for the mufflers. the original ones were notched but i had forgot to notch the new one when I installed them. its too cold to glass the notch so that will have to wait for warmer waether. Being a 260 lb ,6'2" man in a tiny bilge wearing a tyvek suit and full face mask on a 3 degree day with a -16 degree windchill using a jig saw, 1/2 inch router and 4 inch grinder is not a "fun" thing to do!!!
battery box is also back in

New controls are installed and control cables are in. just and FYI for future reference. 23 ft cables work well for the port engine with enough play for creative routing. I was re using my old cables for the starboard but they are way too long. I'm ordering new 17 ft cables for the starboard engine.

Got the stringers repainted the other day. decided I had enough "bilge" work so I decided to jump back inside the cabin for a couple days for a change of scenery. Had a few boxes of teak vinyl plank flooring at the shop and figured I'd give it a try. The hatches are a pain to do but im happy with the outcome. I decided to try something a bit different with the floor. since its vinyl I heated it with a heat gun until it was very pliable and formed it up the hull transitions . originally I was hoping to have it go up just enough so that I wouldnt have a gap when I put carpet on the hull but it seemed to work so well I may not need carpet. once the vinyl cools it retains the shape of the hull.
i have no idea how well it will hold up but since it didnt cost me anything but my time I figured what the heck?

floor is done. hoses and heat exchanger on one engine. engine sea strainers rebuilt with new site glass and are mounted. Also splurged on a few "non essential" add ons for my new chartplotter . I now have the "sonic hub" so i can control the stereo from the touch screen and it ads blue tooth so I can stream music directly from my phone. I purchased the side scan sonar transducer but since I didnt have $1200 to purchase the dual thru hull version I'm not sure if I can find a way to mount the transom mount version to get it to work?

Wow! Everything is looking great! Nice job on the floor--it should wear like iron.

looks great
i have lowrance stuff on my boat i think you will be very happy, sonic hub, radar with chart overlay, etc. structure scan. i also have installed this remote inside the cabin and also by the swim platform FUSION's MS-WR600 wired remote will let you turn on/off and control the sonic hub without any need to go outside or get out of the water on the hds12. you can set it up to control different zones independently say if you have installed speakers inside the cabin etc it gives you some different choices pretty cool the bluetooth works really well also.

btw i have a couple of the lowrance ep-60 nmea2000 fuel flow sensors that work great with the hds. i took them off my trojan, i am going to sell on ebay havent posted yet. i cant use them on my carver it has efi and a return fuel line to the tank.

Thanks guys.
I decided to work on the fuel manifold. I decided to make a new panel to mount the manifold on. I made it larger than the original and was able to relocate the new fuel filters onto it to un-clutter the area a bit. sandblasted the manifold to clean it up. and put it all back together.
I spent today finishing up the battery cables, wired the ACR's and completed everything except the two engine grounds.
