What's the difference between an automotive electric fuel pump and a marine electric fuel pump?

Being ignition proof is the main thing as well as having corrosion materials as part of it's construction. Electrical devices give off sparks...

Do not use an automotive electrical motor ( Electric fuel pump, alternator, starter, distributor, etc. ) in a marine enviroment! BOOM!

Also, the marine electric fuel pump has a nipple that you attach a hose that is attached to the vac side of the engin. If the seal of the pump were to leak the fumes and or gas will go to the engin not the bottom of the boat and then BOOM!!!!!!!! Oh yeah, I just got done installing one, it took less than 5 sec to pump up fuel to my carb (oh yeah)

right on , what pump and where did you get it? I'll need two for a F-32. The local marine guy put some wimpy things on that won't pump enough to get above 1200 rpm.

If you go down half way on this page, you will se the post I did (electric fuel pump) . It is a Holley 7128021 Blue electric Marine Fuel Pump with regulator. This pump will feed two carburetor from the regulator at around 70gph. I don’t think your two engines burn at that rate. The installation is relatively simple, I do suggest installing the pressure switch to turn the pump off on low oil pressure, although the pump can run continuous because it has a bypass. I found the pump on the holley site and purchased it thru amazon.com pump shipping and handling came to $177.39 only because I wanted it next day air, the pump was $153.74

Make sure your pump is rated for E10 - I installed a blue holley pump and it started leaking after a couple weeks.......... I then went to the carter electric (marine E10 rating - under $100)

Good point, The 7128021 Blue MARINE is E10 rated meaning you can run 10% alcohol which is what most gas is today anyway. The other 12812 Blue pump is a street competition pump and not ment for a marine application
