fly bridge engine toggle switch problem
I have a 1976 F 28, the engines will start from inside the cabin, and only the port side engine will start from the bridge. The starboard will turn over but will not start. Any ideas? Thanks, Randy

starting problem on bridge
I would check and tighten all the wire connections to the switch on the bridge. also can try to jump across the switch which basically bypasses the switch to see if the switch is bad or swap port and starboard switches to see if that is the problem. Usually a poor ground connection.

switches
when i bought my f32 the bridge switch for port engine was bad same exact symptom you are describing. the boat had the lever type switches. didnt find any local so i just replaced both with keyed switches. figured if they were original it would figure the other would stop working sometime also. the original style would have been fine but they werent local so i installed the keyed switches although keyed switches werent actually needed. i found 2 sets that were keyed the same so it doesnt matter which key is for which switch so it gave me 4 keys with no worries about the "right" key in the right switch.
