Hi,
I have located a tank on our 1988 12 meter aft cabin that I cannot identify. Just aft of the forward bilge pump,on centerline there is a large built in tank. From the lines going in and out, it might be a waste tank? Any help appreciated. I have two waste tanks identified already (1 under batteries and Sanex tank under dinette set)

I would be surprised if you had 3 waste tanks . Hopefully someone will know .

The lines certainly make it look like a waste tank. I am going to try and measure and calculate volume and see what that might tell me.

On the 12m Sedan this is the water tank.

There were three 12 Meter the 12 meter Convertible, the 12 meter express and the 12 meter motor yacht.

Not sure which one you mean by 12 meter aft cabin.

On all three 12 meters there were only two built in tanks the water tank and the wast tank.

Your owners manual would show these two build in tanks as well as if the treatment system was originally installed by the factory.

If you do not have the owners manual or if you need to ID your 12 meter please feel free to contact us with your Hull number.

Sorry all,
It is a 12 meter motor yacht.
VERY close to the mystery tank (and right beside the hot water heater) is the "fresh water tank" which is an aluminum cylindrical tank. The mystery tank is rectangular and built in right on center-line and just aft of the forward bilge pump.

Ahhhh..,,
Would the 12 meter Sedan and the 12 meter motor yacht be built from the same "HULL" so that I have a built in water tank ("leftover from the Sedan hull") but it is not used because I have the 12 meter motor yacht?

Unlikely

I tried to trace the lines but I cannot see where they come out in the engine room. I have a 16' "snake" camera. I will try to run that back there this weekend and try to see where the lines go.

I find having my owners manual answers many questions like this. You never know what somebody has added to the boat, but I often refer to mine when planning a project or after running into something unexpected.

If you don't have yours, you can get one from Bob at Beacon Marine. He is a wonderful resource and has been most helpful when I have called him.

Bob also has been a great source for parts. He often has good deals on generic parts as well as an inventory of Trojan specific ones that are not available anywhere else. His contact info is in his post above or you can click on the button above for the Trojan Online Store.

I have the owner's manual (ordered from Bob I believe) but I cannot find anything in it on this tank.

I am going to try this weekend to get my snake camera in there and see if I can snap some shots.

👍

Could it be a gray water tank (i.e. drain from sinks and/or shower)?
