Just obtained this "yacht". Sad condition. In water, not underway for years. Boat is located in SE Virginia. Any help would be appreciated. Working on ac power now. Gfci trips, going from off to shore.

Start with purchasing the manual on that particular boat from Bob and Beacon Marine ! Tracking electrical is a process. First check your GFI at the source; then the lines from the source to the boat; Then shut off all breakers in the panel AND both 30A main breakers in the boat and plug in...if it does not trip; start with flipping one of the 3 pole mains at a time hopefully the short is only on one of the main load sides. From that point on, you are flipping breakers one at a time and chasing it down. Good luck !

Also, that boat has a cross-over switch which allows both main banks to be supplied with only one 30A cord. Make sure that switch is in the OFF position. This alone could be your problem if you are running 2 30A supply feeds.
