One of my raw water pump was dripping at the end of last season and now it after an hour of operating the engine it is not dripping a drop? Has anyone had this happen before? Engine temps are normal and the same on both engines. There is even water flow from both exhausts?

So the problem is that there is no problem?

Ive seen leaking seals stop leaking before. I attribute it to microscopic crap contaminating the sealing surface. Eventually, it goes away and seal is restored. You didnt say how much it was dripping, or whether it only happened while in operation. Was it "a lot", all the time?

Sorry just wanted to verify -- raw water pump at the side of the engine or circulation pump at the front of it? Where on the pump was the leak coming from - pulley area, seal between pump bodies or pump and block, hose attachments? Normally when a seal goes bad it's gone.

Have bolts loosened off a bit so it dripped a little, but when warm the pump body expanded enough to produce better seal or just evaporate the drips before they dripped? Or some crud in the water (sediment/salt deposits/other sludge) have just temporarily plugged your leak?

Same idea as P-Dogg's questions -- need a bit more info...

Sorry guys I guess I assumed everyone knew what a Sherwood GB-7 pump was. Its the pump on the side of the engine. It was dripping every few seconds while the engine was running. And it was coming from the holes on the pump casing. Basically dripping where it should if the seal is bad. Hope that helps clarify things. But from what's been said I just need to keep a close eye on it till I'm sure its ok.

Just a quick update on the dripping pump. Its still not dripping anymore after almost two months and 12 hours run time.
