Wallpaper F32 1975

My boat has the complete interior covered in vinyl. It appears that this might be original to the boat, as it is behind a lot of the trim that cannot be rmoved just by pulling the screws. My real concern is this might be factory installed using contact cement. Wish to replace. Your thoughts on how to proceed. I do not want to expose and refinish the teak paneling as it would make the interior to dark.

That's the same stuff I have in my 1976 Trojan F-32. I have seen pictures of people that have painted the wallpaper and it looks pretty good. I am thinking of doing my head and seeing how it looks. Not sure what paint to use but an enamel would be the best if it doesn't affect the paper.
