Bilge blower inlet screen

1974 F32. Can anyone infom me about my inlet screen. It's a plastic disc with many small holes (approx 1/16" ea) drilled at random. I suspect that the screen is either not original or adequate to allow sufficient air to enter the bilge. Can anyone confirm the type of screen on a similar Trojan. Also, there is not any water shield around the inlet hole. Any suggestions?
