I’m changing shaft size the keep my safety factor when changing gear. Got all the math figured out. Going to 1.75” from 1.375” so will need new V struts. Where is a good place to order them from. Is there any changes I should be making while I’m this far in? Going from fresh water to sea water soon. What cutlass bearings seem to be working well? Thinking dripless shaft seals does one work better than the rest? Trojan f-36 conv. 1980-460 model had 440s and 1.91:1. Hp and torque are going up. 450hp and 700 ft/lbs torque. Going to 1.75:1 to compensate for the 3600 rpm max. Not set on the props yet. I preordered Sharrow but have not talked to them yet.

You can go up to 1.5 with the stock struts. I don't think you can go any bigger on them. My engines put out 737 ftlbs torque using 1.5 shafts, But I have 1.53 reduction, not 1.75, Here is a company that can make the struts you need. You can also check with Beacon
